REVIEW: FRESH Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask

Sleeping masks are amazing products that provide your skin with deep hydration as you board the train to dreamland. The Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask by Fresh is undoubtedly a popular choice amongst many users.

I was lucky enough to be gifted this product by my friend. I’ve always known Fresh for their lip products but it was my first time seeing something from their skincare line.

So, what is the FRESH Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask?

It is a 2-step sleeping mask that deeply hydrates your skin as you sleep, resulting in a supple and dewy skin when you wake up.

Step 1 and 2 Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask Gel and Water Cream
They even marked Step 1 and Step 2 for you on the lid!

The best part about including sleeping mask in your skincare routine is that you slap them on and go straight to bed. No washing off or waiting required.

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask Gel and Water Cream

The gel essence on the left introduces the first layer of moisture to your skin through a mix of rosewater, damask rose extract, and hyaluronic acid. The water cream mask on the right is added on as the second and last step to seal in the moisture. It contains evening primrose root extract and time-release liquid patches that promotes continuous moisture as you snooze.

My thoughts about it

I love it for the fact that it is lightweight and smells absolutely lovely. It stays true to its name with a fresh rose scent, though at times my mind translates it to be a cucumber scent. That’s how refreshing the scent is!

Texture wise, it is pretty goopy lol. The gel and water cream have a slightly thicker jelly-like consistency that easily glides onto your skin.

Both gel and cream absorbs almost instantaneously as you pat it on making it a great moisturiser for winter time. It is also great for days when your skin needs that moisture boost.

The small downside to me is the extra step in the regime. I have to pat on the gel essence, let my skin drink it in before patting on the water cream. This extra step can be a hit or miss because there are other sleeping masks that does the same thing minus the extra step.

It is also a little steep for a sleeping mask. Although the product is 70ml in total, it is made up of 35ml of each product. It’s fine as long as you use both hand in hand as required.

When do I use it?

As the name suggests, it’s best to use it at night as the last step in your skincare regime before you hit the pillow.

What are the steps?

  1. Cleanse your face
  2. Splash on some toner
  3. Pat on some essence
  4. Pat on some moisturiser
  5. Last but not least, apply the 2-step Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask

That’s all that you have to do! Easy isn’t it?

In summary

This mask gets to partake in my skincare routine at least 3 times a week. It is lightweight, smells amazing and my skin just drinks it up as soon as I pat it on.

It does not leave any tacky feeling after application, and I find that with this mask on, my skin feels much more hydrated the morning after.

I also like that it does not wash off super slippery like some other sleeping masks. This leads me to believe that the product gets fully absorbed into my skin, leaving little to no residue.

Though having 2 steps can be tedious at times (particularly when I am feeling very sleepy), the lighter gel essence does pat dry pretty quickly enabling me to swiftly slap on the water cream and then jump into bed.

This sleeping mask does need both gel and cream for best effect. So I concede. I’ll definitely exchange an extra 30 seconds for that supple skin in the morning!
